Will’s Journey in Music

Will’s passion for music was forged in the vibrant 00s Leeds club scene, where he followed iconic DJs like Sasha, Dave Seaman, Danny Howells, Laurent Garnier, and Danny Tenaglia to legendary club nights across the UK.

With a foundation in classical music, Will transitioned from vinyl to digital DJing, starting with progressive house in the early 00s. Today, he specializes in underground Organic House, drawing from labels like Lost Miracle, Shanti Radio, Lost & Found, All Day I Dream, and Anjunadeep. His dark, twisted sets are a sonic journey through oceans, mountains, and deserts, blending old, new, and classic tracks into a compelling experience.

Will has graced the decks at some of the UK’s most iconic venues, including Colour Factory in London, Mint Club in Leeds, and The Warehouse Projectin Manchester. He has also shared the stage with top names like PROFF of Anjunadeep and Eduardo McGregor from All Day I Dream.

ORGANICA

In 2024, Will launched ORGANICA at Folklore, Hoxton—a night dedicated to showcasing Organic House music with talented DJs and producers from across the UK. The event aims to become a cornerstone of London’s Organic House scene, with plans to expand to larger venues and international locations.

Carpe Noctem Presents

Will is also the co-founder of Carpe Noctem Presents with Max Maclean (DJ Macwel). Their events company hosts eclectic and eccentric house and techno events, ranging from warehouse raves and club nights to boat parties and forest raves, featuring underground DJs and immersive themes.

Faded Society Events

As Operations Lead for Faded Society Events, Will is helping to spotlight emerging talent and resident DJs. He was also a guest judge at the Back2Back DJ Battle, further solidifying his role in nurturing new talent. These nights have quickly gained traction and are set to make waves throughout 2024.

Patchoulideep Radio

Will also hosts a weekly show on Patchoulideep Radio every Tuesday at 2 PM GMT, where he curates the freshest Organic & Progressive House tracks in a one-hour mix.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to own my own decks?

No, you don’t need to own your own decks. However, having access to decks or a controller is beneficial for practicing your new skills.

Which music management program do you recommend, Serrato or Rekordbox?

Since most clubs and bars use Pioneer (AlphaTheta) equipment, I recommend and teach using Rekordbox, the industry standard.

Do I need to bring my own headphones?

Yes! Please bring your own headphones with you. For hygiene reasons, we do not provide headphones.

Can you recommend a good beginner DJ Controller?

Absolutely! I recommend the Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX4. It’s an excellent all-rounder, reasonably priced, and features many of the same controls you’ll find on pro-level decks in clubs and bars. This will make transitioning to Pioneer CDJs smoother when you’re ready to perform.

Do I need to bring my laptop with me to the lessons?

Yes, please bring your laptop with Rekordbox installed. You’ll learn how to use Rekordbox to manage your music collection as part of the lessons.

Do I need a USB?

Yes, please bring a USB drive with some music on it with you to your lesson.
